Frequently Asked Questions - FAQs

FAQs

Some pest control providers give a service period or warranty but will then not honour them, or will insist that the area in question is not part of the warranty. At Critical Care Pest Management we give realistic warranties and honour them. If the pests come back so do we. The difference is we care.

I own Critical Care Pest Management and my name is on every job. I want to be able to sleep well at night and the best way for that to happen is for me to be the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job.

I have over 23 years , from Sydney to Port Douglas, having also trained a number of still active pest control operators. I am licensed in all facets of pest control including termites (white ants).

I am a specialist pest control technician, which means that I cover all pests that you may encounter. The advantage to you is that one call does it all. Some companies specialise in termites or what we generalise as "general pests" (cockroaches, silverfish, ants, etc) only, but it is not unusual to have other pest problems which they do not have the skill to deal with. The difference is we care - about you and your property.

How we charge depends on the type of service we would perform on you property and on the size of the property. We aim to protect your property from pests and our costings refect the value of our service. Quoting for termites is subject to an onsite inspection so that we can provide you with the best possible solution.

Our pricing is competitive because we constantly research the market to ensure that we are providing the best possible service for the cost. Our other competitive advantage is that the technician behind the job is the person behind the business. Our name is directly on the work we do.

The chemicals we use are the safest available so you don't need to place them away from the property. We will normally  move them around as required. For example while we do the outside we will ask you to place them inside or some other internal area.

We use only approved chemicals to treat the pest. Our aim is to kill the pests where the live and where they enter the property. So we target these areas and only use the right chemicals for the pests we are killing. All chemicals are mixed at the rates as advised on the label. We pride ourselfs on acheiving long term control through targeted applications.

The chemicals we use are mostly man made, but are just as safe as the "organic" types. For example nicotine (organic) can be used as a pesticide and was used quite extensively by the ancient Egyptians, but is now considered quite dangerous as a pesticide.

Since we target where the pests live we reduce the amount of chemical in the environment, making it safer for you and your family, and the environment.

As for your pets you don't need to leave your home or business. We have a range of chemicals to suit all situations, and  the liquid chemicals are water based so they don't smell as they once did. We have carried out treatments with clients who suffer from asma and they report being comfortable after the treatment. We will ask you to move as required.

We are known as the "Mr Fixit" so we will get you pests under control - that's what we do - the difference is we care. We offer guarantees on all our work, so what that means is that we will return if the pests return. Talk to us about our quarantees.

Please read through this attachment Pest_Management_Program.pdf and call if you have any questions or inform us when we arrive on site.

No, the spray does not stain. It's a water based residual spray that does not contain strong solvents, so it won't affect colouring or finishes.

No, it will not affect you. The chemicals we apply are registered to be used in hospitals, schools and public places.

It's safe, but we recommend that you vacate your premises while the treatment is carried out and to ventilate the rooms thoroughly after completion for 3 hours before settling back in.

It would be safest if he/she is not present while the treatment is carried out, and preferably stays away from the premises overnight.
